Nature Spot Fjordmarken
Fjordmarken Nature Spot is a green outdoor area with a shelter, campfire site, picnic house and fruit trees between Otterup and Hasmark Beach close to the fjord.

Fjordmarken Nature Spot is in Egense right between Hasmark Beach, known for its lovely view and good swimming, and the town of Otterup, where you’ll find plenty of shops. The area is surrounded by tall trees on three sides, giving a bit of shelter from the wind.
What you’ll find at Fjordmarken Nature Spot
- A picnic shelter with six tables and benches - perfect for lunch or a break.
- A campfire site next to the picnic shelter, where you can cook outside or simply enjoy the warmth.
- A shelter area for simple overnight stays in nature – with a fire pit right in front for cooking or relaxing in the evening.
- Toilet and water tap on site.
- Fruit trees and berry bushes where you’re welcome to pick a few.
- A bike station for those exploring by bicycle.
- Open grassy areas with plenty of room to play or unwind.
Fjordmarken Nature Spot is a great place to stop if you’re hiking or cycling along Odense Fjord or the Kattegat coast.
Egense sits along what used to be the coastline of Odense Fjord. The landscape still shows traces of the old Egense Fjord, which was drained and reclaimed back in 1818.
Practical information
- There’s direct access via Strandvejen, with a cycle path running both to Otterup and Hasmark Beach - about 4 km each way.
- Parking is available right next to the site.
- Bring your own firewood and gear if you plan to make a fire or stay overnight in the shelter.
- Please treat the nature with care - pick only as many apples or berries as you can carry in a hat.
- The site was developed in collaboration between Nordfyn Municipality and the Hasmark–Egense–Norup local council, and more facilities will be added over time.
