Hiking and cycling route on Enebærodde
Enebærodde route between fjord and sea
The hiking route on Enebærodde follows the path along the narrow spit of land that separates Odense Fjord from the Kattegat. Out here you get wide open views, big sky and nature very close by.
Along the way you walk or cycle through beech woodland and pine trees and past Funen’s largest heath, and all around you can see the small juniper bushes that have given Enebærodde its name. The tour is calm and peaceful, and the landscape is beautiful in every season.
On one side you have Odense Fjord, on the other side the Kattegat opens up. If you are lucky, you might spot adders on the spit and many different bird species, and the area is grazed by the characteristic Galloway cattle.
At the far end of Enebærodde you reach the Enebærodde Lighthouse, and from here there is a view across the narrow sound Gabet to Lodshuse on the opposite side.
Enebærodde is a protected nature area, so it is important to stay on the paths and show consideration for nature and wildlife.
