Vigelsø is a car-free island in Odense Fjord and a lovely choice for a family day out with a ferry trip, birdlife and a packed lunch. When you arrive at Klintebjerg Harbour

Park at Klintebjerg Harbour in good time before departure.
Take the ferry Lunden to Vigelsø.
Follow the path from the jetty up towards the farm manager’s house.
Walk to the bird tower and look for birds across Odense Fjord.
Continue towards the woods and the nature campsite.
Eat your packed lunch at the tables and benches.

Vigelsø is a peaceful island trip where children get a ferry ride, nature and birdwatching all in one day. Please note that the southern part of the island is closed to the public to protect the birdlife.

Ferry: The ferry Lunden sails from Klintebjerg to Vigelsø on selected Sundays from April to October
Departure: From Klintebjerg at 10.00 am and return from Vigelsø at 1.00 pm on public sailing days
Price: DKK 40 per adult and DKK 20 per child, cash payment
Toilet: By the farm manager’s house on Vigelsø
Toilet season: Open from 1 May up to and including the autumn holiday
Drinking water: Available by the farm manager’s house during the same period
Cars: Cars cannot be taken to Vigelsø
