Erik Menveds Kro in Bogense
Visit Bogense’s and Funen’s oldest inn – enjoy a welcoming atmosphere outdoors, in the cozy authentic rooms and in the courtyard garden.
Cozy inn
Erik Menveds Kro sits in the centre of Bogense and is a good place to quench your thirst while watching everyday life in the town streets.
The old half-timbered building is Bogense’s and Funen’s oldest inn from 1543. It is named after King Erik Menved, who granted the town market rights in 1288. The taproom is snug and low-ceilinged with the feel of earlier times.
Authentic Funen æggekage
Erik Menveds Kro also has a restaurant that opens for special events on request.
The menu features classic Danish and Funen inn dishes prepared with care. A highlight is the specialty of Funen the æggekage, a type of omelet, which captures the taste of Funen at its best. There is plenty of opportunity to enjoy coffee and cake or a cold beer.
Coach parking is available near the inn.
