A sensory story in the old cowshed

As part of Nordfyns Rosenfestival, you can see the exhibition “The Rose” this summer. Floral artist Johnny Haugaard is known for creating fairytale-like worlds from natural materials, and this time the castle’s old cowshed sets the scene for the artwork.

The exhibition follows the full life cycle of the rose. Here, you will meet not only the flower in full bloom, but also everything that is usually thrown away – the roots, the thorns and the withered parts.

Through close collaboration with Scandinavia’s largest rose producer, Grønløkke Planteskole, bare-root roses and forgotten materials are brought back to life.

Roses, roots and restless souls

The historic setting at Harridslevgaard Castle gives the exhibition a very special atmosphere.

Past, nature and storytelling come together in a setting where the castle’s rich history and the rumours of the “restless souls” said to wander in its corners live side by side with the art.

During the exhibition period, there will also be a chance to attend talks with Johnny Haugaard at the castle, where guests are invited in for humour, big stories and a closer look at the exhibition.
