Egense Dyb - Havørred Fyn Hotspot nr. 3

Between Otterup Marina at Egensedybet and Galten Hoved there is the perfect winter fishing spot between November and March - and you'll also catch many good fish in summer!

Egense Dyb is a striking channel of deep water that cuts inland toward the small harbor of Otterup. In winter – as long as the water isn’t frozen – this spot is always worth a visit. Sea trout overwinter in the deep channel and can be found here throughout the season.

In cold water, sea trout tend to feed in short, unpredictable bursts. Patience pays off, as timing is everything at this location. Anglers can wade and fish on both sides of the harbor. While the seabed may seem uninviting – soft, gray mud – don’t let that fool you. When the water is cold, this is exactly the kind of bottom sea trout love to hunt over.

Parking near Otterup Marina.

Peak season: January – March

Mid season: April and November - December

Please note that it is not legal to fish at the brook estuary at the inner part of Egensedybet.
