Visit the Land of Roses.

Come to North Funen during the rose season and experience a profusion of roses

in full bloom, which delight all the senses.

The Rose Fields

The tour begins at Grønløkke Planteskole, where we’ll take a guided tour of the rose fields, and the rose grower
will tell us about rose production and rose breeding. Grønløkke Planteskole is Scandinavia’s largest
rose producer, with over 50 years of experience and an annual production of 1,200,000 roses, spanning 1,000
varieties!
Grønløkke Planteskole is a co-organizer of the North Funen Rose Festival in Bogense, which takes place every year on the first
weekend in August. Learn more at www.rosenfestival.dk

The Market Town of Bogense

Visit Denmark’s coziest market town, Bogense, where you can enjoy lunch at one of the charming
restaurants or cafes at the city center or at the harbor. You can enjoy a delicious “stjerneskud” or a bus menu.

To complete the meal you’ll of course be served a Funen-style “brunsviger” or layer cake.

Kongsdal Åben Have

From Bogense, drive to Kongsdal Åben Have, which is one of the most beautiful gardens in Denmark.

As well as a large lake with a waterfall and several fountains, the garden features a wealth of rhododendrons, perennials,
roses, topiary trees and shrubs. The garden covers 20,000 m² and has been laid out in beautiful harmony with
the surrounding countryside, offering views of fields and woodland.

Visitors are welcome to bring their own food or coffee to enjoy here.
