Join a guided tour of the rose fields, visit Kongsdal Åben Have (open Garden) and enjoy a pleasant town walk in Bogense with delicious food.

The rose fields

The tour starts at Grønløkke Planteskole, where you will have a guided tour of the rose field. The rose gardener will talk about rose production and rose breeding.

Grønløkke Planteskole is Scandinavia’s largest producer of roses, with more than 50 years of experience and an annual production of 1,200,000 roses across 1,000 varieties.

Grønløkke Planteskole is a co-organiser of Nordfyns Rosenfestival in Bogense, which takes place every year on the first weekend in August. See more at www.rosenfestival.dk

The market town of Bogense

Visit Bogense, Denmark’s cosiest market town, where lunch can be enjoyed at one of the town’s pleasant restaurants or by the lovely harbour.

A delicious stjerneskud (danish open faced sandwich with fish and prawns) or coach menu can be served. Of course, Funen brunsviger or layered cake can also be served with it.

Kongsdal Åben Have (open Garden)

From Bogense, the trip continues to Kongsdal Åben Have, which has been named one of Denmark’s most beautiful gardens.

In addition to a large lake with a waterfall and several fountains, the garden is filled with rhododendrons, perennials, roses, topiary trees and shrubs. The garden covers 20,000 m² and is laid out in beautiful harmony with the surrounding nature, with views across fields and woodland.

You can enjoy your own food or coffee here.
