Winter Festival in Bogense
The Winter Festival in Bogense brings plenty of winter buzz to town for a full day. Watch ice and wood sculptures take shape, let the kids’ imagination run wild with ice carving and a bouncy castle, enjoy a bonfire and pancakes by the harbour - and finish the day with acrobatics, fire, and a guided tour of the finished artworks.
Come and join in as Bogense turns into a lively winter world with ice and wood sculptors at work, light installations, and stalls with exciting exhibitors. Ice for Kids, a bouncy castle, activities for the whole family, music, shopping, and cosy winter vibes.
Programme – Winter Festival in Bogense
11:00–16:00 – Ice & wood sculptures made live (6 ice blocks + 2 wood blocks)
Watch the artists work throughout the day and see each piece go from a raw block to a finished sculpture. There’s also a Find & Win competition with a DKK 1,500 gift card (Bogense Handelsstandsforening).
See the artists at work here:
First Camp, Vestre Engvej – Lisbeth Krag
A sculptor focused on form and movement. She works with several materials, and at the festival you can follow the full ice-sculpting process up close.
Old Harbour (Gl. Havn) – Ali Suaylem
A trained sculptor with a special interest in figurative work. He usually works in bronze, but here he shows how classic sculpting techniques translate beautifully into ice.

A local artist with lots of experience in ice and snow sculpture, and a prize winner in Canada. Known for clear shapes and a playful touch. He also leads the guided tour later in the day.
Middelfart Sparekasse / Nordfyns Bank – Morten Møller
An experienced ice and snow sculptor with international jury experience. Highly precise work and a great feel for what the material can do.
EDC – Søren Cip
Mask maker and sculptor. He creates his own ice sculpture and runs Ice for Kids, where everyone can try working with ice as a material.
11:00–14:00 (or 11:00–13:00) – Ice for Kids: Make your own ice sculpture (free)
