Join a literary troll hunt in the great outdoors
Discover Shrek, the Moomin Troll, Paja from Troll Life – and six other trolls from the world of books.
Along nine stops on the new part of the Green Trail, you’ll explore a wide range of troll characters, from creepy monsters to kind and cuddly creatures.
Each post features a short story introduction, illustrations by local art students and a fun activity for kids. Local scouts have built the rustic wooden signposts.
The troll hunt is ideal for families with children aged 4-10.
How it works
The nine posts together make up the troll hunt. Follow the circular trail through Veflinge Kirkeskov and you’ll pass them all naturally.
Each post has a question to answer – and you’ll find the clues in the surroundings.
You’re welcome to visit just a few posts or do the full route.
If you want to complete the entire hunt, use a Troll Map, where you mark each post. When you’ve completed the trail, show the filled-out map at Min Købmand in Veflinge and receive a small prize.

The Troll Map is a printed treasure map where kids can write down their answers.
You can pick it up at:

When you’re done, hand in your map at Min Købmand in Veflinge to get a small gift.
About the forest Veflinge Kirkeskov
Veflinge Kirkeskov is a green oasis just across from the church in Veflinge. The peaceful paths lead you through leafy trees, fruit trees and past a small pond.
Designated a recreational area in 2015, it now includes:
A campfire shelter
A small shelter with a firepit
A fenced dog park
Perfect for walking or cycling – and taking a deep breath in nature.
