Pilgrim walk and outdoor church service with Bogense Church

Sunday 26 July: Olav walk between four churches

Join a 17 km pilgrim walk through the beautiful North Funen countryside. The walk marks the Norwegian pilgrim tradition and Saint Olav. Along the way, there will be short devotions, stories and quiet walking sections, giving you plenty of time to take in nature and reflect.

Route and programme for the day (9.00 am–5.00 pm):

• 9.00 am: Start with a church service in Bogense Church.
• Stage 1: Walk along the water and through the forest by Gyldensteen Gods to Nr. Sandager Church, where there will be a lunch break.
• Stage 2: The walk continues through the countryside by the manor house Jerstrup to Grindløse Church, where coffee will be served.
• Stage 3: The final stage leads to Klinte Church to see the historic frescoes, before the walk ends at the nearby Sankt Olufskilde.

Practical information:

• Distance and transport: The walk is approx. 17 km. Shared transport back to Bogense will be arranged after the walk.
• Bring: Your own food and drinks for the whole day, plus clothes and shoes suited to the weather.

Sunday 23 August: Outdoor church service at Bogense Harbour

Enjoy a beautiful hour under the open sky with the scent of the sea and live music. This Sunday, the church moves out of its usual setting and holds an informal outdoor service at Sejlerkajen, by the sailing club and harbour office, at Bogense Harbour.

After the service, there will be a small piece of bread and something to drink outside.

Practical information (Outdoor church service at 11.00 am):

• Contributors: The service will be led by parish priest Inger Solveig Nissen. Music will be performed by organist Emil Th. Møller Jensen together with trumpeter Mads Lunde and flautist Frida Lunde.
• In bad weather: If the summer weather lets us down, the service will move indoors to Bogense Church, where there is luckily also a sea view.
• Organiser: The parish councils of the four parishes: Bogense, Nr. Sandager, Klinte and Grindløse.
