Nordfyn in Pictures – Bogense Water Tower

See scenes from North Funen when Casper Winther Hansen exhibits at the Bogense Water Tower – and enjoy Bogense from the top of the tower!

Visit the Bogense Water Tower and enjoy a beautiful photo exhibition featuring 20 images from Nordfyn.

Nordfyn is surrounded by stunning nature and full of historic manor houses and castles.
The exhibition in the water tower offers a small glimpse of some of the lovely places Nordfyn has to offer.

Behind the camera:

The photographer behind the exhibition is local artist Casper Winther Hansen.

He originally comes from Otterup and now lives in Bogense.

Casper has been interested in photography since he was very young, and it’s especially the nature around Nordfyn that inspires his work.

In his day-to-day work, Casper is a graphic designer at Nordfyn Business and Tourism.

See Bogense and the Kattegat from above

You also get the chance to see Bogense and the Kattegat from a higher viewpoint. Climb the many steps of the tower’s narrow staircase and head out onto the viewing platform. From here, you can enjoy views of the charming old market town and the shimmering sea, dotted with small islands and Æbelø in the background.

Bogense Water Tower

The water tower was inaugurated on 24 November 1910 when the town’s waterworks was launched.

It stands about 16 metres tall and has a diameter of around 8 metres. Designed by architect Gundlach-Petersen, it is a smaller version of the water tower built in Fredericia in 1909.

The water pipes were permanently closed in 1996. Today, the tower is used as an exhibition space – and when it’s open, visitors can also enjoy the wonderful views from the top.
