Group Trip to the Occupation Museum Funen

The Occupation Museum focuses on the years 1940-1945 in an authentic setting. It’s a place where you can feel the atmosphere of the era and hear compelling stories about life on Funen during the occupation

A visit to the Occupation Museum Funen brings history to life, taking you back to Denmark during the German occupation.

Here, groups can experience World War II history in truly authentic surroundings. Explore the Rosendal farm, which served as the German headquarters for the 5,000 Danish workers building the massive airfield at Beldringe. Today, this site is home to Hans Christian Andersen Airport. Step inside a resistance fighter's apartment, where you’ll find illegal underground newspapers and rationing stamps – and you can even get a taste of "Richs," the wartime coffee substitute.

Guided Tours

The exhibition features weapons used by the resistance, artifacts left behind by German forces, stories of Danish concentration camp prisoners, and much more. Take a guided tour of the local command bunker, built with massive 3-meter-thick walls and ceilings. The area also temporarily housed about 1,500 of the 245,000 German refugees sent to Denmark in the final months of the war. You can hear the gripping stories of how they lived and their desperate search for fuel. Book a tour to hear these unique stories from WWII. You can also visit the "Flying Hangar" at HCA Airport.

The visit can perfectly be combined with lunch at the "Flyver Caféen" (The Flyer Café) at the airport. Educational programs for schools are also available.
