Bus Trip to the "Artist Home" – The Home of Else Friis & Jørn Anderson

Painter Else Friis works with oils and acrylics, while woodturner Jørn Anderson breathes life into Danish wood with a history. Visit them in their creative sanctuary, where art is made with heart and soul. Everything here revolves around the artistic experience.

Welcome to a truly special experience! Else and Jørn invite you inside their "Künstlerheim" (Artist Home) for a visit filled with art, nature, and creativity. Surrounded by forests, fields, and the beach, their home is an oasis of peace. This is their joint project—a place where Jørn shapes wood according to its unique character, and Else creates poetic narratives through her paintings.

From Forest Tree to Table Bowl

The atmosphere at Else and Jørn’s is relaxed and welcoming. It’s a great opportunity to get a personal look at the artists' process and daily life. You can see Jørn at his lathe, transforming Danish wood into one-of-a-kind pieces. He often fells the trees himself and knows the story behind every log. His work is exhibited across the country, including at Trapholt Museum and Egeskov Castle.

Transforming the Blank Canvas

Else finds her inspiration in nature and the people she meets. Her works are full of mood and poetry, featuring figures that seem to be "on a journey" through life. Her experimental style is best experienced in person, where the details really pop. You’ll find her work in selected galleries and exhibitions nationwide. Both artists are also part of "Galleri Øst" in Bogense. Fun fact: Else offers workshops for small groups upon request!

Creativity and Nature Hand in Hand

Else and Jørn work closely together. Else often incorporates wood offcuts from Jørn’s workshop into her art—sustainable and creative! In a world that’s always rushing, they’ve chosen a slower path, prioritizing presence and reflection. Even their food—eggs, veggies, and fruit—comes straight from their own garden and livestock.
