Nordfyn will send off the PostNord Danmark Rundt race on the ”Strade Bianche Nordic” 18 August
Otterup and Nordfyn form the framework for the start of this stage of the PostNord Danmark Rundt bike race. It's not just any stage start. This is the start of the race's third stage, which is also the race's longest with 239.3 km. Not only that, but the stage is also with 18.3 km on gravel, hence the name “Strade Bianche Nordic”.
Come to the town square in Otterup on Thursday, August 18, where the start is 11:45. But come in good time, because you have the opportunity to get really close to some of the world's best cyclists, see their warm-up and their impressive team cars, just as there is of course a presentation of the riders on stage at Torvet.
This is the second time that the bicycle race has North Funen soil under the wheels, and the interest in following the race was great in 2017. The interest will be even greater this year, as you have the opportunity to get a glimpse of some of the (Danish) riders who participated in the Tour de France, which as you know starts in Denmark at the beginning of July.
The stage starts in Otterup, after which the riders move to Søndersø and on to Morud, before they find Rugårdsvej towards Middelfart and on to Jutland, where the finish line is crossed in Herning after a full 239.3 km.
