2 -3. February 2019, the world's best cyclo-cross-riders will compete for World Championship medals in Bogense on North Funen.
The World Championships in Cyclo-cross is a traditional championship that has been honoured with the status of official World Championships under the International Cycling Union (UCI) since 1950. Cyclo-cross is one of UCI's most prestigious disciplines, and the World Championships are the climax of the winter for the world's best riders.
The World Championships are settled on a fenced three-kilometer route by the harbour and campsite Kyst Camping in Bogense. The drama will unfold on the slopes up towards the city and the church in Bogense. You can, among other things, experience the Danish medal hope, Simon Andreasen from Funen, who became the cyclo-cross junior world champion in 2015.
January 27, 2017, Denmark won the bid to host the Cyclo-cross World Championships in 2019. Denmark has a proud tradition of hosting large international bicycle races, and it has been a major factor in UCI's point of view of Denmark as a World Championship organizer. Last time the Cyclo-cross World Championships took place in Denmark was in 1998, and it also took was situated on Funen, more precisely in Middelfart. At that time, the most succesful Danish cyclist was Henrik Djernis, who dominated the sport.

The event is organized in cooperation between the North Funen Business and Tourism Association, Sport Event Fyn, Sport Event Danmark and the Danish Cycling Federation.
